ICE AND SNOW: NEW ZEALAND, ICELAND, PACIFIC NORTHWEST, AND BUCKS COUNTY
In the practice of painting there is a whole world of white: titanium, zinc, flake and lead, to name some - and the tones that can be mixed with other colors are infinite. In paint there is also the mark - surface texture. The natural world of ice and snow provides countless equivalents to photograph. Excursions to Iceland and flights over the mountains of the Pacific Northwest from 2003 - 2007 provided new vistas to capture.
