PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT- INTERACTING WITH OUR FUTURE LEADERS – #1

Thanks to Professor Pablo Marquet, on Thursday, October 10th, I participated in an event at the San Joaquin Campus of the Universidad Catholica organized by Alfredo Pena-Vega (sociologist living in Paris) and Luis Flores (philosopher from the University).  They invited me to speak to members of the “Global Youth Pact for Climate”, senior students from public schools in Santiago as well as other areas such as San Fernando, Valparaiso, Rancagua and Collipulli. I was introduced by Cristina Girardi, a senator from Valparaiso, who is a strong supporter of environmental issues.

These young students are participating on a project described as “working to help our country and the COP25 to think and develop solutions to combat global contamination.”

After a break and our meeting more informally they returned to work on what they are going to say in COP 25 in December which will be meeting in Santiago. What an incredible experience for them!
